Mailway Packaging Solutions were proud to sponsor a Beer at this years Salts Beer Festival in Saltaire, West Yorkshire. The festival is run annually as a fundraising event to support the work of Bradford Cathedral Choir and Saltaire Sports Club, and Mailway were there too, sponsoring "Gold" a beer from the Bays brewery in Torbay, Devon. Visitors to the festival were even served by a member of the Mailway team.
At 4.3% this easy drinking, light golden ale was very popular. Tasting notes state "The unique blend of English and Continental hops create lemon citrus overtones which tantalise and refresh the palate".
Bradford Cathedral Choir is made up of Boys, Girls and Adults sections with around 50 current members in total. The children of the choir all live in the Bradford area and over 20 local schools are represented. Recent tours to Barcelona, Bavaria and Canada have been highlights for the choir alongside singing 4 weekly services at the Cathedral.
Salts Sports Association origins date back to the early 1900's when the 14 acres of land adjacent to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal were used to provide Bowls, Cricket, Football and Tennis for the village of Saltaire. Salts have forged many partnerships in the local community to bring healthy recreation to juniors and seniors alike, and have been recognised by the Lawn Tennis Association winning the national "Tennis Club of the Year" award in 2010.
Mailway Director, Tim Lees commented "We are always pleased to support our staff with their work in the community and this was a perfect opportunity to be involved in a great local event". Over 400 people attended the event over the Spring Bank holiday weekend and the festival will return next year with another great selection of beers & ciders from around the UK.
