Task
Mailway is often approached to help develop bespoke solutions for special packaging requests, providing innovative packaging solutions that meet logistical challenges and budgetary pressures.
The idea
One example of this is when Mailway Packaging Solutions worked with Arc International, the international glass manufacturer, and was commissioned to pack 6million Coca Cola glasses in purpose made triple sleeves for a nationwide McDonald’s in-store promotion
Challenge
The Mailway team realised the moment they saw how the glasses were meant to be packed that there was no way the job could be done within the parameters of the budget put forward by McDonalds, so finalising a cost-effective solution was vital.
Solution
Developing a bespoke semi-automated packing line made the project financially viable, so Mailway revised the sleeve design so that instead of lock-in fixing, which would have required manual assembly, the sleeves were glued together automatically – a solution that led to a reduction in line staffing as well as increased running speeds.
What you may not know…
Mailway is the perfect packaging partner with their innovative bespoke solutions, with the capacity to run 22-production lines, 24-hours a day from its 60,000 sq ft facilities in Bradford.
Mailway can also deliver the co-packing element of the process as an in-house service for clients who either wish carry out the job internally, but don’t have the technology or expertise, or want to reduce their transport and storage costs.
We’re lovin’ it.
